HUBUNGAN ANTARA DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DENGAN PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKLUSIF PADA BAYI USIA 0-6 BULAN DI PUSKESMAS DINOYO MALANG
Abstract
Exclusive breastfeeding is only breastfed babies at 0-6 months of age without giving anything, including formula milk, sugar water, honey, plain water, or any additional food. The process of exclusive breastfeeding needs to be supported by the role of the family in remembering, paying attention and informing the mother the importance of breastfeeding for baby's growth and development. Based on data from the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Health in 2013, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia was 61.5%, so it needs to be improved. The research objective was to determine the level of relationship between family support and exclusive breastfeeding for infants at Dinoyo. The population in this study were breastfeeding mothers with infants aged 0-6 months, totaling 60 people. The research sample was determined by simple random sampling technique with a total sample of 30 people. The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire. The data analysis method used is the Fisher's Exact test. The results showed that almost all 25 (83.3%) mothers received good family support to provide exclusive breastfeeding to infants and more than half 19 (63.3%) babies were given exclusively good breastfeeding. Fisher's Exact test results obtained p value = (0.004) <(0.050) so that it can be concluded that there is a relationship between family support and exclusive breastfeeding to infants at Dinoyo Malang Public Health Center. Suggestions for families are expected to be an active participation of a partner or husband to provide support for exclusive breastfeeding because the success of breastfeeding is not the responsibility of either party but the joint responsibility of husband and wife. The family is responsible for communicating and providing good support in meeting the physical and psychological needs of nursing mothers.
