Abstract

ABSTRACT

The use of a laptop can cause a health complaint called Computer Vision Syndrome. This syndrome is influenced by the application of ergonomic systems that are not good for students who use laptops. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the relationship of laptop usage behavior with Computer Vision Syndrome in nursing students at Nursing Science Study Program, Faculty Of Health Science, Tribhuwana Tunggadewi University. This research was a descriptive correlative study with cross sectional method. The sampling technique was simple random sampling with a sample of 67 respondents. Collecting data with a questionnaire. The results showed that respondents had poor laptop usage behavior as many as 37 people (55.2%), the incidence of negative Computer Vision Syndrome was 40 people (59.7%) and based on the Spearman Rank correlation test results with a significance of 95% p -value of 0,000. This value is less than alpha 0.05, which means that H0 is rejected, so in statistical tests in this study states that there is a significant relationship of laptop usage behavior with Computer Vision Syndrome in nursing students 2009 generation at Nursing Science Study Program, Faculty Of Health Science, Tribhuwana Tunggadewi University. Based on the results of the above research, for the next researcher can be studied about the relationship between the behavior of laptop use and visual acuity. Information about the correct behavior of laptop use and its impact needs to be widely disseminated so that laptop users avoid the occurrence of computer vision syndrome
