HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN IBU TENTANG MAKANAN PENDAMPING AIR SUSU IBU (MP ASI) DENGAN STATUS GIZI BAYI USIA 6 BULAN – 12 BULAN

Food plays an important role in the growth and development of children, because children are growing so their needs are different from adults. The most important thing in providing complementary foods to children is what foods should be given, when the time is given and in what form the food is given. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of mothers about nutritious food by providing complementary food for breast milk in infants aged 6-12 months. The research design uses correlation with the cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all babies who participated in the posyandu in Tlogomas village. The sampling technique used in this study is the saturated sampling technique. Data collection using a questionnaire for knowledge and nutritional status. The statistical test used in this study is the Spearman Rank (Rho). The results showed that most of the mother's knowledge was adequate, which had a nutritional status in the good category (53.8%) and knowledge of good and good nutrition status of 22 people (42.3%). The results of the Spearman Rank test showed that there was a significant relationship between maternal knowledge of complementary feeding (MP ASI) and nutritional status of infants with a positive correlation coefficient, meaning the better knowledge of mothers about complementary foods (MP ASI) the better nutritional status baby. Suggestions for further researchers need to be improved on other factors related to maternal knowledge about factors and side effects that lack knowledge in providing complementary breastfeeding food with nutritional status of infants aged 6-12 months so that it will produce more optimal results.
