TEORI KONSTRUKSI SOSIAL: SEBUAH TEORI BAGAIMANA WARGA NEGARA MEMAKNAI PELAKSANAAN PEMILIHAN KEPALA DAERAH DI MASA PANDEMIC

Abstract

Social construction theory believes that an individual can interpret the world around him as a social reality through the process of his interactions in community groups. The purpose of this paper is to find out how citizens can interpret the implementation of regional head elections during a pandemic. This research was conducted using a literature study method (library research) or research with literature studies, namely the collection of data and information from scientific journals and books as well as research results. Thus the data process obtained shows that holding regional head elections in a pandemic holds a lot of meaning for citizens. The meaning depicted in digital media which becomes a public space so that citizens are used to realize their participation, and the manifestation of a citizen's democratic attitude can be seen from his role through the public space in his decision-making process. Thus, the media as a means of political discussion in the community, so that the meaning formed by each individual in the practice of citizenship will emerge.

Teori konstruksi sosial mempercayai bahwa seorang individu dapat memaknai dunia sekitarnya sebagai realitas sosial melalui proses interaksinya dalam kelompok masyarakat. Tujuan penulisan ini yaitu untuk mengetahui bagaimana warga negara dapat memaknai pelaksanaan pemilihan kepala daerah di masa pandemic. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode studi literature (library research) atau penelitian dengan studi pustaka, yaitu pengumpulan data dan informasi dari jurnal ilmiah dan buku serta hasil penelitian. Demikian proses data yang didapatkan bahwa penyelenggaraan pemilihan kepala daerah dalam pandemic menyimpan banyak makna bagi warga negara. Makna yang digambarkan pada media digital yang menjadi ruang public sehingga digunakan warga negara dalam mewujudkan partisipasinya, dan perwujudan sikap demokratis seorang warga negara dapat dilihat dari peran dirinya melalui ruang public dalam proses pengambilan keputusannya. Demikian, media sebagai sarana diskusi politik di kalangan masyarakat, sehingga akan muncul makna yang dibentuk setiap individu dalam praktek kewarganegaraan.
